IONEX rinsing water circulation system

The recirculation of rinsing water is becoming increasingly popular in surface technology. Due to the fact that water is becoming increasingly valuable both as a raw material and from a business point of view as an operating resource, the treatment of rinsing water using ion exchangers is a sensible investment. With this wastewater-free process, no dirty water is discharged into the sewage system. The degree of purity of the water is continuously monitored by means of conductivity measurement. Both the rinsing pressure and the amount of rinsing water can be regulated. The ion exchangers are regenerated as a service.

ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS

Functionality

All flow rinses in the electroplating system are connected to the rinse water treatment system via a ring line. The rinse water is pumped from the circulation tank (storage tank) through a 4-stage filter system via a centrifugal pump. The purified water is fed to the rinsing equipment as required. If no rinsing water is required, the water runs back into the storage tank via a bypass. The pollutants remain in the filters and ion exchanger columns. This prevents the carry-over and accumulation of unwanted water constituents (organics, complexing agents) in the sinks.

Loading of the ion exchanger is indicated by a significant increase in conductivity. If a conductivity measurement value of 50 µS/cm is exceeded,
an audible and visual alarm message is issued on the control cabinet with a 30 second delay. If the exchanger resins in the cartridges are loaded, they must be replaced with regenerated new cartridges.

Changing the cartridges takes approx. 15 minutes.

Ion exchange resins

We offer all types of Ion exchangers to:

Cation exchanger

Ion exchange resin that absorbs positively charged ions (cations) from the water and exchanges them for protons (H⁺) or sodium ions (Na⁺) is exchanged.

Softener resin (which is used for water softening systems) falls into this category

Anion exchanger

In these ion exchange resins, negatively charged ions (anions) are absorbed from the water and exchanged for hydroxide (OH^-) or chloride ions (Cl^-) exchanged.

Mixed bed exchanger

This ion exchanger is a special resin. It consists of a mixture of cation resin and anion resin. As a result, it absorbs both cations and anions from the water, allowing the water to be fully demineralized.

All positively charged ions (cations) are replaced by protons (H⁺) and all negatively charged ions (anions) are replaced by hydroxide ions (OH^-) exchanged.

Resin for special applications

This is a collection of different ion exchange resins, all of which have been designed for special purposes and are often significantly more expensive than regular resin types
